This is the story of that day for Justin & Cecilia, who call Canada home. The island’s lush greenery painted the day in an intriguing spectrum of shades, while every tone of the surrounding landscape gently embraced Cecilia’s chosen palette: white, ecru, pastel orange, blush, and lilac. Cecilia has always loved the way sunlight filters through the trees, dancing softly through the glass windows and doors of the Glass House. Surrounded by woodland, the house seemed to become part of the landscape itself—a place where light, shadow, and greenery were in constant conversation. For the glass chapel where the ceremony took place, we brought in Song of Jamaica. Its clean, graceful branches and yellow-tinged green foliage carried a sense of freshness and coolness, transforming the island’s intense sunlight into shimmering fragments of dappled light. The gentle movement of light and shadow created a beauty that felt almost alive. At the heart of the dinner table, suspended overhead, was a massive layer of baby’s breath stretching more than two meters across. Bathed in the warm afternoon sun, it seemed to hold the light within its delicate clouds—airy, ethereal, and dreamlike. Here and there, it was almost as if you could hear the softest sighs of delight. It was the trees, with their ever-changing shades, that brought out the nuances of every color, making each hue feel brighter, richer, and more luminous. Light and shadow. The subtlety of color. The beauty of what is already there. Once again, we were reminded that the answers to the most wonderful—and most important—things are often found in nature itself. That was our day.
